I just got this lens delivered yesterday. I was just playing with it last night. Initial impression is that, it is very sharp, even at 1.4 at the minimum focusing distance. For comparison, my other Fuji lenses are the Fuji 18-55, 16-55, and 35mm/2.

This is a high-quality lens that performs well. It is quick to auto-focus, sharp, and delivers high-quality images at a very affordable price. The firmware updates are important to keep up with and these are easy to apply to the lens.

Sharp and great low light performance

I bought the Viltrox 13mm f/1.4 specifically for astrophotography, and I couldn’t be happier! Coming from the Fuji 18mm, the step down to 13mm has made a noticeable difference — the wider field of view lets me capture so much more of the night sky in a single frame.The lens is sharp wide open at f/1.4, and the fast aperture is brilliant for pulling in light on those dark nights. Stars stay sharp across most of the frame, and the manual focus ring has just the right feel for precise adjustments in the dark.Compared to the Fuji 18mm, I love how much extra foreground and sky I can now fit into my shots — it’s opened up new compositions I just couldn’t manage before. The build quality feels solid, and honestly, for the price, this lens is an absolute gem.If you’re into astrophotography and want a wide, fast lens without breaking the bank, the Viltrox 13mm f/1.4 is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

Et bien, quelle surprise !!Comme beaucoup, j'avais vu quelques tests par-ci par-là expliquant que c'était un bon objectif, mais franchement, je ne m'attendais pas à un tel rendu, surtout à ce prix.Si vous cherchez un 56mm pour patienter jusqu'à l'arrivée d'un 56mm f1.2 PRO ( Viltrox, si tu passes par ici, on attend !! ) , inutile d'investir plus.Alors, tout n'est pas parfait, le plastique est un peu cheap, la bague de mise au point un peu spécial ( électronique ), mais reste précise, la pare-soleil en tulipe n'est pas idéal ( mais je l'ai remplacé par un modèle un peu plus long et vissable ), mais dans l'ensemble, rien de dramatique.Par contre, le piqué dès la pleine ouverture est bluffant, la colométrie vraiment bonne, et le bokeh, bien qu'un peu nerveux, reste quand même super agréable, la mise au point est rapide et (pas trop) bruyante ( pas testé en vidéo, je n'en fais pas, mais on entend un Bzzzzzzz en passant de la lecture des photos à la remise en mode photo ), il est minuscule, super léger, le pied avec un XH2 en balade légère.Je joins quelques exemples en jpeg brut de capteur ( y compris le noir et blanc ) d'un XH2 de 40Mpix que le 56mm encaisse sans broncher.Rien d'artistique, mais monter le bokeh, et la texture qu'offre ce petit Viltrox.Le 13mm me régale au quotidien, ce 56mm va en faire de même c'est certain !!!Merci Viltrox de nous offrir ce genre de petit objectif passe partout.Pour conclure, n'hésitez pas si vous avez besoin d'une petite focale à portrait, c'est une merveille pour ce prix.

I read all the positive and negative reviews I could find on the lens before making the plunge. I was excited when the lens came and I tried it out with my XT-2 and XT-1. Like everyone has said, lens is incredible. I read that there is a new firmware update that will take the lens down to f/1.6. So, I tried to update the firmware only to find out that the USB port did not work on it. I ended up sending it back to Amazon for replacement. The replacement came, the USB port worked.... the firmware update did not. Researched it and found it will not work for the Fuji line. Really not happy, but it did not stop me from using the lens. One quirk I've noticed is, when shooting Manual on both the XT-1 and XT-2, the exposure compensation, shows negative 5. So, when you look through the viewer or live view, the screen is dark and the lens hunts. If you leave the camera in Auto. You do not have an issue. But, who will use the lens in Auto? I swapped out the lens for a fuji lens and the exposure compensation is fine. Not sure what the fix is yet.

Nitido luminoso e preciso, obbiettivo economico senza ghiere né bottoni però ha tutto quello che serve! Foto nitide ottimi colori e autofocus molto buono, ottimo anche nei video! Consigliato a chi non vuole spendere 1000 euro circa ma vuole un buon obbiettivo a focale fissa per iniziare a comporre fotografie con la focale 35mm che è un ottimo compromesso
