I do not consider myself to be a cycling enthusiast, but I do like to ride my bicycle, and safety is of paramount importance to me. It is awesome that this wireless bicycle tail light detects an approaching vehicle and initiates a suitable warning light in response. It also initiates a slowing/stopping light whenever the bicycle is rapidly decelerating. Of course, a lot more options are available when used with the Darviso app. The app adds the ability to detect that a vehicle is approaching from behind, and what the general direction is from which that vehicle is closing. This real-time knowledge definitely increases my safety margin. I do not own a bike computer, but this Ride-X9 Bike Radar Tail Light also claims it is fully compatible with major bike computers.Setup was quick and easy. The light mounted to my seat-post easily using the included hardware. The Ride-X9 Bike Radar Tail Light paired with the Darviso app without difficulty. This item is pricey, but I do not consider this item an extravagant luxury considering what its capabilities are, and the added safety it provides.

I have a Bryton cycling computer (750E, a bit dated, I know, but it works great) and got this hoping it would work with it, and lo and behold it does! All I had to do was go into the 'add sensor' bit and I found it right away, and it paired right up without complaint or problem.I LOVE it when things go smoothly and I don't need to spend any time troubleshooting or guessing. There's a lot I like about this radar / taillight, but first I'd like to hit on the one thing I don't like, just to get it out of the way. It has a mount that is similar to the "Garmin" style mount, which is the de facto industry standard. However, it's a bit smaller and not compatible with the Garmin style mount, it's kind of its own unique thing. While I appreciate wanting to be different, I also appreciate a bit of standardization when it's called for, and I think in bike accessories, it kind of is. It's a minor gripe, really, but I say this in hopes that for future versions of the product, Darviso just adopts the same standard bits that everyone else uses. There are plenty of places to stand out from the crowd, the mount doesn't have to be one. That having been said, the mount does work just fine, it just prohibits you from having multiple mounts from multiple devices on multiple bikes, and if you own 2 or 3 bikes like I do, well, that's kind of something you hope to have.Beyond that, everything else about this is just golden. The light and "auto brake light" works fantastically and adds a huge amount of safety and visibility to me when I'm on the road. The radar also works well, but I did find it occasionally hits on things it probably shouldn't. Not often, mind you, and so far, I've never had it miss an approaching vehicle from behind. But once in a great while, it'll beep when passing a parked car or something. It's kind of something that you learn to anticipate after you ride with it a while, to the point that you'll pretty much know if you're picking up the rare false alert vs the real ones.Battery life is pretty outstanding, and even on full blast you get 8 hours, with the other modes giving significantly longer life. Build quality is really good, it's not machined from billet aluminum or anything, but the quality of plastics used seems decent to me, and with an IP67 waterproof rating, I'm not afraid to ride with it in the worst rainstorm. Not that I enjoy riding my bike in a rainstorm, lol.In terms of value, I think this is a pretty solid offering. It's more expensive than some lesser models, yet cheaper than some of the bigger name brands, putting it pretty square in the middle in terms of cost. This "middle of the road" is where I tend to spend my money, as it rarely pays to buy something cheap, and buying the most expensive thing on the market is usually just a waste of money. Thus, I like the value here - a well-made, well-functioning product that I'm not afraid to spend a few dollars for if it works well, and it does.My hope is that the "X10" (or whatever their next model is called) will adopt an industry-standard mount, but for most folks this won't make much difference here. At the end of the day, it's a fantastic taillight / radar that I feel very good having on the back of my bike, as anything that helps me get home every time in one piece is money well spent in my book. 5 stars.

I ride a bike for transportation (See the photos of my bike, set up for grocery-getting, with the radar unit mounted on the seatpost). I'm always looking for gadgets to improve my chances of survival when mixing it up with car traffic. In spite of the fact that the rear of my bike is cluttered with a rack and panniers, this radar unit functions decently. This is the first radar unit I've tried, so I can't campare it with anything else. I can only describe what it does. It detects vehicles approaching from behind, as long as they are closing in on you. If they follow, matching your speed, they disappear from the screen. Also, vehicles shown to the left or right may actually be in your lane. If a vehicle moves from one side to the other, it shows this movement. Notably, I've seen no false indication from immoble objects adjacent to the roadway. The light is quite bright and has a number of useful modes, which can be selected using the app, or simply by scrolling through them with the power button.I had no trouble downloading and using the iOS Darviso app. Bluetooth pairing with my iPhone 14 worked perfectly. I was able to update firmware with no problem. In addition to showing approacing vehicles, the app shows your speed and distance ridden, and can save this ride data. Note that units are metric, without the option (as far as I can find) to change to imperial. This radar unit costs about twice as much as a similar light without the radar function. For my use, the radar is interesting, but not really better than a rearview mirror. I'm fully satisfied the the quality of this unit, the included accessories, the app, and the written instructions. But if you need to budget your money, it may be too expensive for the benefit you get.

Installation was very easy as it came with the hardware that makes it so. It was also quite lightweight which I appreciate. As a light it is bright and has a couple modes as far as how it flashes. Battery life seemed good and the thing is well-built. I could not get it to connect to my Wahoo Elemnt V3, though, and that was kind of the end of the road for me. I know I can install its app and use that, but I'm not looking to have a computer and my phone on my handlebars. So, I am no longer attempting to use this and can't speak for how well it detects cars. That lack of functionality makes it useless to me. But if you know you're using it with a compatible computer, I do believe it's worth checking out.
