UPDATE (5 JUN 2018):It is now over a year later and I am still using this bag. I took it to Europe twice, each time for ten days. There is some stretching in the fabric between the sipper and the backpack, as I have packed so much I sat on it to close it MANY times, but it shows no sign of breaking. I travel with a packable backpack for souvenirs, and when I had so many that my purse could not fit inside the packable backpack, I checked this bag and it came out fine. This bag has fit in every overhead bin I have put it in, including the Delta CRJ's; I have never had to gate check. It has stood up to abuse on trains, subways, restaurant floors, and truck beds. It fit in those sizer things European carriers make you put your bag into.That said, the opening is awkwardly placed. It is hard to get a laptop out quickly for security. Also, watching TSA unzip literally every zipper on this bag trying to figure out which one opens it is a little frustrating. I suppose the relative difficulty of figuring out how to open this bag could be a security feature, though.ORIGINAL (Sometime in February 2017):This bag seems very sturdy. The zippers, while not YKK, are very heavy duty. I took the bag on a weekend trip to a wedding, so I had to pack a lot in it. I was able to fit a skirt, dress pants, two sweaters, two blouses, a jacket, thermal pants, and socks/underwear/belts, etc, as well as flip flops, a pair of flats, and a pair of 3-inch heels (pumps, not wedges). (The heels took up the most space) I also put a book, headphones, pantyhose, and laptop and charging accessories, and my toiletries in it. It holds a lot if you roll your clothes. I got it because I was sick of heaving around a duffel in the airport, and I strongly dislike rolling luggage. It's also much more stylish than a hiking backpack. If you are the type of person who wants to be able to grab your bag, walk off the plane, and not have to bother with annoying rolling luggage this is the bag for you, that won't make you look like you just crawled out of the middle of the woods. I plan on taking this bag overseas with me this summer, where I will also not be checking it. I paid 100% of the price for this bag, and didn't get any kind of promo anything.The only thing I didn't like was the rolling up thing in the back. I wish the straps just folded into a pocket like some of the other bags have, but given the overall quality, I wasn't disappointed. The straps are very well-padded, much better than I expected, which makes up for it. Definitely recommend.

I have taken this backpack on two international trips, one of which involved lots of moving/repeated packing. The bag holds up well, and I love the versatility. It looks great as a duffel bag or backpack, and it's easy to convert. The "leather," although man-made, is a good, sturdy material and so far it as held up very well. The canvas material is nice and heavy. It looks great, although I will say the "black" color is closer to charcoal grey--which I think actually pairs better with the cognac colored "leather."The bag is very comfortable when worn as a backpack. Although I'm sure it's not as comfy as a traditional "backpacker" pack, it's not really large enough to overdo it with weight anyway, and the waist/load bearing strap helps to distribute the weight more easily. All the various straps pack away easily, which is also nice when you're on the move.The small pockets on the front of the bag are really great for extra storage, and the rounded shape means that they add more space even when the bag itself is packed to the gills. The zippers are sturdy, and I've had no issues with the teeth bending or tabs coming off, which is something I had feared with such an inexpensive product. The laptop pocket inside is also a plus.In sum is a great bag at a fantastic value, and I don't have any critiques. Moreover, in contradiction to the product label I can attest to the fact that it is, in fact, gender neutral and looks quite fetching on a lady. ;)

Best bag I’ve ever owned by a long shot, use it daily and for travel.Perfect for Frontier flights as it counts as personal item and fits perfectly above or under the seat.The hooks and straps are perfect for holding my carabiners and field knife. The right side pocket is great for holding extra objects or water bottles.The pockets in side are great, as a photographer I use the internal pocket for batteries, adapters, chargers, etc.They stay completely out of the way while I pack 4 changes of clothes and a camera into the main pocket. It has a bottom pouch that stays separate from everything else, and it can expand to take up half the bag or stay flat and isolated the very bottom. I use it to store a med kit.The front leather pouch is where my iPad Ives, and it could not be a more perfect fit. Easy to grab, protected, and on the flap there’s a mesh pocket I use to hold my chargers. The attached clip is perfect for holding keys while you travel.I’ve left many a candy or chocolate in this bag, and living in Arizona it doesn’t take long for messes to happen. Perfectly fine though, just chuck in the wash on cold, air dry, and problem solved. Bag has not shrunk, threads don’t come loose every time you wash it, never had a single issue. Even the patches I’ve ironed on have stayed on.Very little fading in color, mostly on the bottom where it sits in the dirt. But what wouldn’t that fade.
