Maybe I should have paid more attention to the listing before ordering but this thing is comically large, especially if you’re not fishing in the ocean. It extends over 50! Inches long. And it’s about 8 inches wide. So it’s quite the measuring tape.That said it’s really good quality and the tape has plastic pieces at both ends; including a right angle side to push a fish up to.In terms of measuring fish it will absolutely do that and do that well. The scale is in inches with half inch increments. So it will measure anything from a bluegill to a sturgeon. Super easy to read the markings and because of the right angle piece, easy to push a fish up to measure.My only complaint is how large it is, even rolled up it’s still the 8 inches plastic piece plus the role. I might end up cutting this whole thing in half just to make it easier to stuff in a tackle box.

The ruler is very lightweight and compact, making it easy to toss in a bag or keep attached to my tackle station without adding bulk. I love the carabiner clip, which makes it super convenient to keep it secured and always within reach.The strong Velcro closure keeps it neatly rolled up when not in use, and when you open it, the large, easy-to-read numbers are instantly visible. The measurements are true and accurate, which is exactly what you want when you’re checking a catch.The quality is excellent. The nose-end is metal and feels like aluminum, giving it a solid, premium feel. The ruler portion itself is made from thick, durable plastic that should hold up really well over time. The far end has a flat metal weight, which is a fantastic design touch. It helps keep the ruler laid flat if it’s windy and also makes it easier to roll back up when you’re done.Overall, this is a great design from top to bottom. I also like how portable it is—rolling it up with the strap and clipping it to a bag is very convenient. The waterproof material cleans up easily after use. Also wish it had “stoppers” or something to stop the fish from sliding off. Overall, good option.

Bought because of how compact it is. Lays out flat after a bit from being rolled up. Worked good on my trip to MN. My 6 year old was using it by himself. Just wish it had 1/4 inch increments instead of just 1/2 inch increments. Haven't had it long to see about durability, but seems like it will last quite awhile.
