Fairly easy to install. Just takes a little wiggling to get the mix to fit on the ear cup the way it needs to. Connects to a kenwood style connector (K2 style) with no problems. Tested with a Baofeng UV32 pro, received various channels no problem. Transmitted on appropriate frequencies clearly enough to be understood. The attachment it self doesn’t affect the comfort of the ear pro, just adds a tiny bit of weight and a down lead which could get in your way if you’re not using it attached to comms gear.Overall quality is good. Durability is adequate for what it is. I wouldn’t expect it to survive a helicopter crash, but for airsoft and larping? Couldn’t pick a better option to retrofit a piece of gear.

I almost didn’t get this based on the poor reviews but the audio quality is great when recieving and transmit is clear as I believe people just didn’t trouble shoot the item if the aux plug is fully plugged in the audio is perfectly loud enough. I’d say if your on the fence buy it and if you don’t like it it’s Amazon return the thing but I feel like I turned my set into comtacs for 43 bucks

I was completely surprised by the level of quality. I own a set of Peltor COMTAC Vs and TCI Liberator IIs - I bought this as I had a few of the Howard Leight Impact Sports and thought why not try it out - paired it with on of my many Baofengs and it completely surprised me. Now this is not obviously a COMTAC but for the price you will be completely satisfied. The only grip I’d have it the “clicky” sound of the PTT but honestly I can live with that. Ordering another now.It fits very securely, the mic stays in place and sounds just fine. If you’re on the fence, jump over it and go ahead and order it.

I bought this Boom Microphone and PTT to mount on my Howard Leight Impact Sports Noise Cancelling Earmuffs for my new Baofeng GM-5RH GMRS radio to attach to an OpsCore FAST Helmet. The installation process was super simple, and seamless. It works great right off the bat. I bought the set of TWO BAOFENG GM-5RH radios here on Amazon. I set up the first one as described above, and the other I have set up with the long antenna and a remote microphone that will not be a part of my "Kit". Great combination.

Returning the second unit. I'm done. Received on Saturday, tested Sunday, worked fine. Tried using it to check into a net on Monday and the intermittent audio started again. Could not hear anything from the radio. Sending this back. Great idea, execution sucks.This is my second unit. First one worked out of the box, but when I actually needed it for an event less than 2 months later, the receive audio was intermittent. Returned to Amazon for a Amazon "Card" Refund (less a "restocking fee") as it was more than 30 days and apparently there is no direct contact information for the vendor on Amazon to see if any warranty return/replacement was available.I really would like this to work. So will be using it heavily the next few weeks and at the first sign of trouble within 30 days it goes back. Any issues after that I will try the refund route again and then give up.When it's working, the unit does everything I want it to do (interface a set of Howard Leight Impact Pro hearing protection with my Kenwood amateur radio HTs), and it's a great idea, and for the few minutes it actually worked while providing communications support for a parade, was great to block out the marching band next to me to hear radio traffic, but I don't have a lot of trust right now. Here's hoping things go better this time.

This thing just works and works well! I have converted six headsets to this system. If you run your ptt anywhere near your antenna you will need to buy some ferro beads to deal with static. If you run your antenna on the back of your plate carrier/chest rig then it's not necessary.

Solid for the price. Audio quality is alright and it fits on the impact pros snugly. Been using them in airsoft with a uv5r for a couple years and haven’t had any complaints. Might want to upgrade the PTT eventually, but it does the job. Plastic feels kinda cheap on the PTT but at this price that’s expected, still handles abuse fine so far.
