This device helped me save my 8Tb drive by eliminating a bad interface board. Once the drive was extracted from the case, I could connect and retrieve data. The final solution was to order a new drive enclosure which I will be reviewing next. 7 Tb of data recovered.

It worked out of the box for my IDE drive but not for the SATA. The manual is tiny and impossible to read without a magnifying glass. The problem solving solutions are very short, lacking in detail, and not helpful if you are not well versed in the technology. While I happen to know what jumpers are and can locate them on the hard drive, I have no idea what to do with them based on the cryptic explanation. Referring me to the long gone hard drive manual is useless advice. They say technical support is available, but they don't tell you how to contact them. The brand name is nowhere found on the product or manual. It looks like a generic product.

This little gizmo works great! I thought I was gonna have to buy a whole new computer to recover the data on my hard drive low and behold, I plugged in the adapter, stuck it into the side of my laptop, flipped on the power and there was all my data in photos.Obviously, it will not recover programs, you'll need the actual original disk for that, but you will have all the data available as well as photos and other files.It was very easy. Well worth the money.

I needed a data transfer unit from my old hard drives to a flash drive. I ordered this product and it works well. The price was great too. It’s a simple plug in but be aware of the size of the hard drive to connect properly since there are different size options. Sadly some of my old hard drives were corrupt, not the fault of this product. Keep in mind this will only work with hard drives and not solid state drives.
