I've gone through 4 trimmers now and was reluctant to spend over $50 and this gem seems to be a perfect fit! Ergonomic and light, great battery life, and USB charging means another plug I do not have to take overseas! Great buy. UPDATE: 4/27/24 - device just stopped working. Fully charged. No motor movement. Real shame. On the market again!

I was worried when I saw that the reviews were pretty much bought and paid for, but I got it, and it's a great piece for beard trimming.It looks like a knockoff of another device, but I don't care as long as it holds out and works as intended.

When I first got this beard trimmer 8 months ago I thought it was fantastic, but after about 4 months it started periodically turning itself off and back on while trimming. I thought maybe I was holding it too close to the off switch but nope, it just kept getting worse. I wish I had returned this as soon as it started happening but I assumed it was user error… it was not. Now at the 8th month mark it takes me 15 minutes to trim my beard, which I do about every 2 weeks, this used to only take me about 3 minutes to do. But now It turns off and back on by itself every other stroke. It rips the hair right off of my face and the battery is losses 10% every time I trim. This trimmer is either garbage or defective. Unless I can get hot tools to replace this thing free of charge I would never buy anything from them ever again.

Is the Teddy Roosevelt quote in the headline a bit dramatic? Perhaps. But I am heartbroken by this beard trimmer because I was REALLY looking forward to using it. But mine doesn't work. At all. Let me explain, and tell you how this free beard trimmer cost me $15 (without ever getting it to work).I was super excited to get this beard trimmer. I was in need of a new one, and we've had great luck with Hot Tools products. So when this beard trimmer came available on Vine, I jumped at the chance to review it. But then it arrived, and it wouldn't charge. At all. Ever.So that led me down a rabbit-hole of trying to get it to take a charge. After my first attempt to charge the trimmer with the included cord, I thought maybe my charger was broken. Three chargers later, I thought it was the faulty cord that came with the trimmer. Being as excited as I was for the trimmer, I actually ordered a replacement charger online. Waited a few days, that came, plugged the trimmer in...still nothing. So then I looked around the house for any sort of plug that might fit the trimmer. The instructions tell you not to do that, but at this point it wasn't going to get charged any other way. Alas, the one option I found also did not charge the trimmer (though it fit).So, I have to just assume I got a very rare lemon. Which has crushed me more than a $30 trimmer should do to a man. If I had paid for this, I would just return it and get an exchange, but that's not really an option for me. So I guess I'm just submitting this review as an honest experience I had with this product....though from looking at EVERY other review at the time of this posting, this is apparently an excellent trimmer that works well (when you can get it to take a charge). Sounds like a pretty rare problem, just one that I happened to get this time.While you could argue for a 1-star rating (as mine doesn't work at all), I'd like to give the company the benefit of the doubt, as I seem to be the only one who had this sad experience.
