The top is made of very cheap plastic. The plastic piece that goes in the middle does not connect right, and the top keeps falling off. Very frustrating, the unit in my opinion, is made very cheaply. The canister is nice if the lid would attach, not what I expected

I brought a new unit but obviously received a previously used one. All the parts were there but it was very obvious that this was repackaged . I have no problem buying used items but when I buy something that’s supposed to be brand new, don’t try and dupe me.

I have had this ice cream maker since July 2021. And the only problem I have with it is that the lid fell off of the metal container when I took something out of the freezer. And the lid cracked into many small pieces. This means I can only use one side of the ice cream maker now. Because the star shaped lid is what helps hold the mixer part stable while the metal tube spins the ice cream. I looked online and a replacement lid costs $5. But they are sold out. They are also sold out of the metal tube. I imagine that's because they would be unable to spin the ice cream if they got dented bad enough. Moral of the story, when I get the lid replaced finally, I definitely won't be storing my ice cream inside the metal tub with the plastic lid on it. I will immediately put it into another container. Other than that I really like the ice cream maker.

The media could not be loaded. It is a decent machine. I can make 8qt of ice cream in one go. Do have a lot of small ice cubes or crushed ice and lots of salt handy. I think I used two large ziploc back worth of small ice cubes and quite a bit of salt. Didn't measure how much salt.The build of the bucket is sad though, I have loose boards. They should just make it a plastic bucket and call it a day. The drain hole on the side is annoying and not helpful, at least include a plug.
