Fortunately I don't travel for work as much as I used to, but when I do, I miss having the usual 10 key when I am working on spreadsheets or project plans. Enter this no-name USB 10 key board. It plugs into your laptop, your laptop recognizes it right away, and you get your spreadsheet nerding out on. They apparently have a shortage of boxes as the box itself says that this is a wireless keyboard with a dongle but it very clearly has a USB cable that you plug into the laptop. I'm not sure why you would need it to be wireless anyways since you are going to use it right next to your laptop keyboard.After many spreadsheets of use it still works exactly as it did the first time and with the price currently in the single digit dollars it is hard to beat. Throw it in your laptop bag and even if it breaks after several months of travel you won't be upset about it.

I get this for my wife who is a freelance designer. She uses it for shortcuts in Photoshop (like brush size changes) and for typing in dimensions. She loved the thoughtful gift and said it's really helped streamline her workflow. The setup was idiot-proof—just plug and play.

A laptop with a keypad drives the price up considerably. A laptop with a built-in keypad means a larger screen. I can't afford that. However, I can afford this sturdy keypad for the times I need throw numbers into a spreadsheet. Coming in at the size of a pocket calculator. This is no frills keypad. The USB cable does not retract or detach. The keys are low profile membrane keys that are silent. There is no backlighting of the keys. The box the keypad came in through me for a loop because it shows a wireless keypad working with an included dongle. Upon opening the box, I discovered the keypad I ordered. This keypad has been bouncing around my laptop bag for the last two months and keeps punching away. The small amount of padding on the underside of the keypad does a great job of holding the keypad in place while you use it. The keypad feels sturdy and durable. The keys are large and responsive under my chubby fingers. They look and feel like they are part of a standard laptop keyboard. At this price point, I won't shed tears if I lose it. You get a durable no frills keypad for a small amount of coin. It's great for use on the road or as spare in pinch.
