My mother-in-law is in her late 80's, but you wouldn't know it. She runs, rides her road bikes on the local trails, and tracks her investments and banking on line with her state-of-the-art, Ryzen 7, HP laptop, on her home WiFi network. Having the network available, she added a Ring doorbell and perimeter cameras. She likes the Ring products, but has found them to not deal with power outages very well. The doorbell is the biggest problem because it doesn't always reconnect itself to the WiFi network after a power failure. Well gee, you say, how many power failures does your area go through that this is a problem? Let's say this: We live in Sacramento CA, and this city has been built out since the 1960 -1970's, meaning all the power lines, transformers, switching stations, power poles, etc. are over 60-plus years old. In addition, during this time the local utility has lost the power-production of one nuclear-power plant (shut-down, dismantled) and one steam co-production plant (Campbell's Soup had agreed to let the local utility use their by-product steam production to power an on-site power production plant, and Campbell's has been closed 10 years). Consequently, our access to power now is not what most people grew accustomed to coming out of the 1950's, with the grid being fairly new and many fewer people consuming power like we do today. So, after making numerous trips to my mother-in-law's to troubleshoot her Ring doorbell's propensity to fail, I decided the best fix for the situation was to do what was possible to keep her WiFi router from going off-line, thus disconnecting the doorbell. Enter CyberPower's battery-backup systems. I've had a CyberPower rack-mount system in my den to keep all of my equipment online for years, plus I've got all of my TV's, smaller computers, etc. throughout the house on CyberPower UPSs. I use them for a good reason: They are reliable. Especially compared to their main competitor. I've had to replace batteries as they aged out, but I've never had a CyberPower UPS fail to protect or keep my equipment running. I absolutely cannot say that about "3 letter" brand UPSs. I've never had one of theirs last long enough to need new batteries! So, for the two areas I wanted to provide continuous power and protection at my mother-in-law's, this CyberPower AVRG750LCD was one of two UPS I ordered. Like all of the units from this company I've bought over time, this UPS and a second different model that were installed and have been working perfectly at my mother-in-law's, are doing the job. They've been in for a few months now, and I haven't had to go and re-boot her Ring network once. I'm sure it will happen eventually, but using these UPSs has made a difference for her, and it can do the same for anyone who wants to keep something protected and online!
