The material claims 304 stainless and certainly feels very sturdy. However, the tilt bracket was not square to the j-pole necessitating a non-aligned attachment of the bracket to the support structure. This was a significant hinderance, it made for a LOT of frustration atop the ladder trying to set things up, so the pole would be in alignment with the house verticals. I bought this mount to raise my weather station above the pergola roof; my wind measurements were being hampered by swirling off the roof and nearby house. Now raised above all that, the weather station is getting what appears to be MUCH more accurate readings. And the unit can be serviced on a six-foot ladder instead of needing a 14 ft to reach it. Oddly, the speed wrench included with the system was 11mm, when all the hardware was 13mm! Doesn't matter to me since I have a full tool set but someone who doesn't will be quite irritated. The product could have been better, but now that's its installed, I feel that it will be useful for the long-haul. I am sure as heck not taking it down now!

Initially, I was quite happy with this product, stainless steel post and hardware. The problem lies in the bracket that anchors the post is not robust enough to prevent twisting of the bracket itself. I have a lightweight weather station on it.

Overall the product is pretty good. It's taller than a lot of these mounts in its price range, and with antennas the higher you can get it the better, so that's definitely a good thing. You can also order extensions to make it even taller if you like, and since the mast is sturdy and tick-walled it should be able to handle at least a few more extensions while remaining stable. I may have to experiment with this myself. The box comes with all the hardware you need, actually more bolts than you actually need, but having more is better than not having enough. There is not a sheet of paper with the instructions, because installing this mount is so easy they just printed the installation instructions right on the box. Seeing that made me wish more products did that, as reading from the box is a lot easier than dealing with a thin sheet of paper that can blow around and get destroyed more easily. It comes with a wrench for tightening the bolts, which works perfect for the mast sections, but you're really going to want to use a bigger wrench or an impact driver to tighten down the lag screws and the bolts that attach the mast to the mounting bracket.I got this mount to put a security light a little higher up in my yard, but it would work great for an antenna or a security camera as well. The mast sections are thick walled steel that isn't going to bend in any wind besides a hurricane or tornado. The base is a bit of an odd design, it has a curved track that would suggest you can mount the mast at any angle along an arc, but for it to actually be secured you have to put in a middle bolt as well that does not have a swinging track, just some predetermined holes you have to use. I would have liked to see it have a full range of angles you could mount it at, with notches to keep the mast locked in at that angle. For my needs this wasn't a big deal, but it would add versatility. The base to mast connection was also a little tough to get tightened down all the way, but it's because the material is thick and doesn't want to compress as you tighten the bolts, so it takes some effort to get it tightened down all the way. The material being thicker is a good thing, you should just be aware that you're going to need a bigger wrench than the one supplied to really get it tight.Overall I'm happy with it.

It's stainless, it's well made. I have it holding a dual band amateur radio antenna. Works great.

This antenna mount was purchased to replace a 7 year old steel unit made by another manufacturer. Old mount had almost rusted through due to being near the ocean. The new mount is better in every way. 100% stainless steel (even the hardware). This mount is much better designed and went together easily. I anticipate a long life out of this unit. Wish I had bought this the first time

I was SUPER impressed with the quality, thickness and sturdiness of this mast. I bought the 68" one. It's heavy duty commercial grade and worth every penny. The assembly was simple. This J-Pole and mast extension inspires confidence that it will function well for many years to come. The (very handy) included heavy duty wrench was a very nice touch and it's going in my tool box.
