These glasses are actually much better than expected. They feel sturdy and not cheap, offer polarized lenses, and are quite stylish to boot! The icing on the cake is the really nice case it comes with. Don't hesitate to get these, they are great.

It's kind of amazing to me that (in the US) we treat prescription glasses as medically necessary items, but we don't do the same for readers or sunglasses. It seems pretty necessary to me to be able to read the tiny writing on the side of a prescription bottle accurately, or to be able to see a pedestrian in the crosswalk who happens to be backlit by an extremely bright sun... But alas, readers and sunglasses are often regarded as optional accessories. And while readers are generally cheap to acquire in any local drugstore, a good pair of sunglasses can be much more difficult to acquire and can cost quite a bit.Sadly, my wife has typically treated her sunglasses as an unjustifiable luxury item, and has generally bought the cheapest available that look decent on her. She has typically prioritized the fashion element over the functional element, and while I'll agree that she always looks great in her sunglasses, they rarely last more than a few months before they break or before she concludes they do absolutely nothing to improve her ability to see in bright sunlight. So after the most recent pair quit on her, I decided to see what I could find on Amazon that would match her previous preferences in terms of looks, while offering better quality in general, and better glare reduction specifically. And that's how I ended up ordering these.To start, they are a classic aviator design, but they're smaller and designed for a smaller face/features. That's not to say they couldn't be worn by a male, but if you have a big head these will look small on your face which is not typically the case with traditional aviators. And the shape is really the only "aviator" thing about these. They're not mirrored, and the frame is much more visible than the traditional "Top Gun" styled aviators.Now, if you go with the black-on-black versions, the frame and lens details I just mentioned will be less obvious. But my wife likes a gradient lens, and is a sucker for the retro tortoise-shell look for glasses, so that's what we went with here. Her tendency to go for gradient lenses is probably why she often feels they do a poor job of blocking light, but luckily for her these are polarized! In fact, they come with a very cool little tester that appears as just a foil image with the faintest outline of something visible on it if you look at it without wearing the glasses. And then when you put the sunglasses on the image of a lion becomes clearly visible. It's a very cool way to demonstrate the polarized lenses, and she was immediately more keen to test them out against some sun. Unfortunately, it has been rainy and overcast here this week with more in the forecast, so that won't be possible immediately. Still, I am certainly more relieved to know that she's driving with better glare-reducing lenses now.Lastly, the other aspect of finding sunglasses that I mentioned: the cost. Well, in that regard these were way more in line with her past purchases, as they were listed for only $26.99 when I ordered them, which makes them a pretty incredible value for a nice looking set of glasses that feel sturdy and have POLARIZED lenses!All in all, I'm very happy with these glasses, and they have me looking pretty awesome to my wife as well!

Stylish & Functional Sunglasses

These sunglasses are stylish, functional, and appear to be high quality based on the materials used. They don’t have any pressure points and do a great job blocking brightness, even in full sun. While I usually prefer more side coverage, these don't let in any stray light, which has been a common issue for me with aviator-style sun glasses. I also love that they don't get caught in my hair when I rest them on my head. They feel durable and come with a very nice case. My only complaint is that the metal nose piece leaves a mark on my bridge; it also gets quite cold and uncomfortable against the skin during the winter.
