This product has the potential to be great and ill explain why I say that. Because of me this product didnt hold up. I chose to apply it to a case that I thought was smooth enough but it wasnt so it ended up coming off. You must put it on a case that is completly texture free or else the adhesive will be compromised. When i had it attached it held on very well. Too well. I could get it on easy enough but getting off was really tough. That might be part of why it came off of my case. I was using two hands to get it off and it wasnt budging.

I bought a new case for this. Flat backed, completely smooth. The adhesive was so bad that holding my phone /near/ something big and metal would make this adapter fly off my phone and stick to the metal.No problem, I'm pretty handy. I was pretty excited for my new bike setup and decided to cut out the adapter's shape from the case and adhere it straight to my phone. I got a heat-gun and warmed the adhesive up a little. Held it to my phone for over a minute. Case back on and everything looks pretty slick.I put it on the stem-mount that RokForm sells. When I twist it to take it off my bike the adhesive fails and my phone comes off without the adapter.I'm going to return the Rokform adapter and the stem-mount holder. But the seller for the phone case didn't do anything wrong -- guess I'll just eat the $20 and put my old case back on.My old case also has a magnet in it. My old case can hold my phone in landscape on a vertical metal surface. When I do it with the adapter the phone will swing down to be vertical. The Rokform magnet is stronger, but it's just in a small circle so it can't hold the phone sideways without rotating so it's not working against battery.This could be solved if you put the magnet part right in the center of your phone. But a pixel phone with a fingerprint sensor on the back you have to mount the mechanical part of the adapter in the middle of the phone and the magnet is more of 1/4th of the way up from the bottom.

After about 7 months of this being slapped onto a Spigen Thin Fit case on my Pixel 6 Pro, it finally failed me!Rokform makes great products and I've trusted a couple devices to them over the last few years. You get what you pay for with this one.Installation was simple enough. I didn't want it directly on my phone, so I bought a cheap but quality case, peeled the cover for the 3m that's on the item, and pressed it on for a couple minutes. And boom! Case is Rokform ready lolThe rubber that covers the magnet isn't the same as what I've usually seen on their products and seems inferior compared to the rugged, solid forms on the others. This one has a sort of grippy, soft rubber feel, and the textured pattern isn't the same either. Unfortunately, this is where my item failed. I do also have the magnet/ring attachment that adds some height to the back and that may have been what killed it. Due to the raised attachment and the two magnets, my phone wouldn't lay flat against objects, and I believe the bottom of this item's magnet would be the only part of it contacting the surface so it got some direct wearing as time went on.After about 4 months I noticed some of the texturing wearing off and by the end it was almost completely worn away, especially on the bottom. Also after about 2 months, I noticed what seemed to be a bubble forming under the rubber of this item probably cause by air expanding due to the southwest heat.Anyways, I'm 7 months into using this constantly, slapping it onto chairs, tables, the fridge, or wherever I'm watching YouTube really. I sit down at a restaurant and plop this into the table. I go to pick up my phone, but the magnet rips open the rubber across the bottom and the glue holding it in place seemed to have failed since the magnet was still on the table. The attachment side is still perfectly fine and I'm keeping the ring/magnet installed so there's still a magnet point.For $20 this isn't a terrible product, but it doesn't quite live up to what I expect from Rokform. I'll probably be buying another since Rokform doesn't make cases for Pixel phones, but it's more likely I'll buy the magnet plug attachment that lays flat instead of using their ring/magnet again as that's what I see being the cause of failure.
