I have had a few of these tie chains in the past. I think they look handsome and do the job well. This version was very well made, and here's the reason:A weaker version of this product always fails when the metal around the button is too thin. there's not enough traction between the button, button hole, and the metal button loop. It needs to be a snug fit, otherwise with a gentle bump, the whole chain can easily jump off the button and be lost.Again, these chains do have enough thickness to perform well. I am happy with this purchase.

I just knew about tie tacks, which poke a hole in your tie, and tie clips, which spring-clamp your silky tie to your shirt placket. I didn't like either of those, so I used to just leave the tie loose. But lately I noticed this chain style on Amazon; MUCH better, rather elegant.
